Who has never thought of spending an afternoon at the spa with their better half or even with their best friend?

Moments for two are experiences that strengthen any relationship, be it friendship, romantic or family love.

Massages are an excellent way to relax, release stress, relieve some pain and get away from the reality of everyday life.

What happens?

Couple Massages are an experience of sharing a unique sensory moment.

It will be held in the same room, but on separate tables. There are 2 therapists, one for each person. The whole environment induces relaxation: calm music, relaxing atmosphere, low light, mild temperature and candles… many candles.

The therapists start the massage at the same time and remain coordinated until the end of it, but yes … they can do different treatments from each other. One of you can choose a more relaxing massage – gentle pressure, slow movements – and the other a more sporty massage – deep pressure, firmer and more intense movements.

How to prepare for a couple massage?

The ideal is to make your appointment for the end of the day, if you are looking for relaxation and go home afterwards. If the need is, to increase the energy to face a productive day, then schedule the massage for the morning.

Take a shower before your massage. If the Spa has a water circuit, take advantage of the pools, sauna, jacuzzi etc. You will see that it will help, and a lot, the whole experience, and boost relaxation during the massage.

Eat something light beforehand so you don’t feel hungry during the experience. Nothing worse than thinking about food, when the goal is to relax.

Leave your phone! Phones are not allowed. Either way, your better half is already with you. The goal of having a Spa experience is to relax, disconnect and enjoy a moment for two.

Go when you’re in the right mood! Avoid stressful or complicated topics before the massage. It is a unique moment for both, where the energy should be good, and getting angry before the session, will throw the whole experience down. Tension between couples increases muscle tension and the difficulty in relaxing. Leave the drama at home!

What couples massages are available?

Most massages can be done in double rooms, so if you have a preferred massage , like the Best Relaxing Massage in the World, ask at the spa if you can do it as a couple.

But there are massages made especially for couples. It is a ritual that calms the mind. According to a series of myths told in Polynesia, Hawaiians would have learned to massage by observing the back and forth movements of the ocean waves. Thus, this massage is focused on finding congested areas on the body and decompressing them.

The whole experience promotes the release of oxytocin “the love hormone” in our body that will generate a feeling of happiness, intimacy, and affection between the couple during and after the massage.
